And the Award goes to...

After conceiving projects during the first stage of Learning Journey to solve community problems, here comes the second stage, where you shall put these projects into actual action.

So, why not start by inspiring others with your work?

Think: Is your project solving your community problems effectively? Is it dedicated to bring a positive change in the community? Have you become an Active Citizen who's transforming others into Active Citizens too?

If your answers are, "yes", then you stand a great chance to win the national “Active Citizens of the Year” award for 2009/10.

Simply participate in a national competition for the most promising community projects.
And here’s your chance …

Active Citizens Pakistan is holding a competition to find the top ten dynamic projects teams across the country; projects that are committed to help people; projects that are being implemented for community's welfare. We're inviting all the participants of Learning Journey to send in their projects and compete for this prestigious award.

Consequently, the winning teams will be bestowed with “Active Citizens of the Year 2009/10” award. This will be their chance to get recognition for all the diligent work that they have done for their society and inspire many young Pakistanis.

Interested?

Well, then here's what you need to do:

Fill in the Community Project Template available at the left corner of this page and email it to us at: social.action@britishcouncil.org.pk .

Accomplished panelists including young leaders and youth workers will review your projects and select the ten best ones.

Don't forget to email the following as the panelists will select your projects on these criteria:

  1. The pictures, videos, reports of your project (any of these)
  2. The details of your stakeholders and their total number (all those involved in the project)
  3. Details of the institutions/partners who are supporting you
  4. Details of your project activities and timelines
  5. Impact of your project so far…success you have achieved!

So hurry up as the deadline is: March, 01, 2010. Your project must have been running for at least 15 days before the deadline.
